Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course students will a) have sufficient knowledge to guide professional beekeepers in rearing honey bee queens b) work on similar issues in institutes and research centers or on research projects of universities c) to pursue a career in producing improved queens d) train beekeepers in rearing honey bee queens contributing their new knowledge

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction , pathways to eusociality, geological history of bees, geographical variability and classification, sex and caste determination , cytology and cytogenetics, population genetics, reproduction and mating behavior, selection, propagation and instrumental insemination, breeding accomplishment with honey bees
