Learning Outcomes
Thorough grasp of modelling and simulation concepts. Acquaintance with simulation packets. Building the necessary background for systems modeling. Development of simulators and use of simulation packets. Practice in solving exercises based on taught theory.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Basic Simulation Modelling. Systems, models and simulation. Simulation types. Discrete event simulation. Queueing system simulation. Modeling complex systems. Simulation software and tools. The GPSS/H language. The simulation packet Simul8. Selecting input probability distributions. Generating random numbers and random variates. Techniques for building valid and credible simulation models. Output data analysis. Parallel and distributed simulation. New approaches in modeling and simulation - Applications.
