Learning Outcomes
They will be able to: Estimate extreme values of hydrological phenomena. Measure river flow and calculate stage-discharge relationships. Process and calculate hydrographs and unit hydrographs. Estimate flood discharge with the rational method. Calculate flood routing.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The hydrologic cycle and its components. Statistical analysis of hydrological data, with emphasis on extreme data analysis. Hydrometric networks. Precipitation. Evapotranspiration. Hydrometry - River flow measurements. Rainfall - Runoff relationships. Flood Routing.

Two-hour written exam, with the use of available books and notes. It mainly involves solving case problems, in order to evaluate the potential to apply hydrological methodologies.
