Learning Outcomes
Subject Matter Objectives: 1. Understand basic characteristics of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS). 2. Know how to exploit geographic data in meteorology and climatology by using GIS. 5. Communicate an understanding of GIS orally and graphically. Skills Objectives: 1. Awareness of the connections of GIS with other fields og meteorology and climatology and to demonstrate the importance of GIS within these endeavors 2. To introduce students to new skills involved in the use of geographic data and GIS 3. Be able to explain ideas and results through written, graphical and oral of communication. 5. Qualified for conducting Research in meteorology, climatology and atmospheric science.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Geographic information. Geographic Information Systems.Geographic data. Types of geographic data. Advantages-disadvantages of geographic data. Exercises (Introduction to the ArcGIS, geographic databases, spatial analysis of data, spatial interpolation methods, geometric correction).
