Learning Outcomes
In the framework of "Light gauge steel and aluminium structures", the students are expected to: 1) Obtain knowledge on structural aluminium and its alloys 2) Obtain knowledge on design of aluminium structures and its special features 3) Be introduced to cold formed steel sections and stainless steel applications

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to cold formed steel sections and their deployment in constructions. Codified provisions. Introduction to stainless steel applications. Design parameters and codified norms. Special aspects in execution and codified norms. Aluminium and aluminium alloys- Material properties. Aluminium load bearing structures.Eurocode 9 provisions and design criteria. Heat affected zones. Aluminium connections.
