Learning Outcomes
Students are expected to: - understand the concept and the principles of the freight trasnport - be informed on the methods and international work optimization practices in this area - become familiar with international and Greek experience in related issues - acquire basic knowledge concerning the institutional and legal framework governing the chain of the transport systems - become familiar with decision-making models in the context of the logistics - acquire a relevant real experience in individual issues through study visits to transport companies, warehouses and freight centers

Course Content (Syllabus)
Management of the supply chain and globalization of production. Unification and packaging of goods. Organization and Management of warehouses. Organization – Management of Road Freight Transport. Organization – Management of Rail Freight Transport. Intermodal and Special Freight Transport. The legal framework of freight Transport in Greece and in Europe. The legal framework of forwarding in Greece. Contribution of the forwarder in the organization of freight transport. Urban Freight Transport. Optimization of freight transport networks. Decision making models for distribution Logistics. Visits in Transport companies, warehouses, freight centers.
