Learning Outcomes
The purpose of the course is: 1. The investigation of the creation and development of the above mentioned sanctuaries mainly from the Geometric to the Roman times. 2. The study of the architectural remains as well as of the various types of offerings, which consist important testimonies of the cults and of the possible political choices for every different period.3)According to that the main literary sources as the relevant inscriptions and the ancient literature will be also examined.

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course presents the most important archaeological sanctuaries of Greece, specifically the pan-hellenic sanctuaries of Olympia, Delphi and Delos, as well as the main sanctuaries of the city of Athens and other significant sanctuaries of Attica.
