Upon successful completion of the module, students will • become familiar with the principles, theories and practices of community work in the field of mental health • understand the processes of planning, organisation and evaluation of community services for the prevention and treatment of mental health problems • know the main perspectives regarding the role of sociocultural factors in the emergence and course of mental disorders • have developed skills for analysing and evaluating community services and interventions in the field of mental health

Course Content (Syllabus)
The module is an introduction to the principles and practices of community clinical psychology. Through lectures, workshops and invited speaker presentations the students will be introduced to the principles of community work in the field of mental health and the planning, organisation and evaluation of community services for the prevention and treatment of mental disorders. The main perspectives on the role of sociocultural factors in the emergence and course of mental disorders will also be covered, as well as the current organisation of community mental health services. The module will take place concurrently with the students' practicum in community mental health services and it will include group supervision and mentoring of the students regarding their experience in their fields of paractice.
