Course Content (Syllabus)
Synthesis of the structural system of building structures. Buildings developed in elevation and buildings developed in plan. Types of structural systems for resisting vertical and horizontal loads. Layout design of reinforced concrete structures (position of walls, density of columns, etc.). Seismic design of concrete structures according to Eurocode 8. Curvature, rotation and displacement ductility –Pllastic hinge – Behaviour factor. Design spectra. Distribution of base shear. Seismic design actions. Capacity design. Design of concrete structures for ductility classes medium and high (walls, beams, columns, joints).
