Course Content (Syllabus)
Structural analysis of shell structures for various forces and boundary conditions.Theory of shell structures, Theory of plates and Theory of Disks. Linear and nonlinear methodologies (yielding lines) for plates and folded plates. Basic elements for dynamic analysis of shell structures using a structural analysis program with finite shell elements.
Analysis of Folded plates, analysis of domes, analysis of cylindrical shell roofs,analysis of shell walls, membrane theory for shells of double curvature,technical bending theory of shell structures, spherical domes and Dome-Ring-Wall systems.
Clasical solutions and approximative solution with finite shell elements.
Numerical approximative for dynamic response of shell structures.
Unilateral, contact-friction problems. Boundary element method. Soil-structure-interaction. Analysis of building structures, tanks and pipelines under seismic loads.
Shell structures, folded plates, cylindrical tanks, spherical domes, cylindrical domes, yield lines of plates.
