Following the successful completion of the class, student will: • acquaint the greenhouse as an alternative mean to produce vegetables off-season • learn the effect of the environmental conditions developed in a greenhouse on vegetable growth • be familiarized with the required cultural practices targeting to the production of vegetables off-season.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The greenhouse as an alternative mean to produce vegetables off-season. The environmental conditions in the greenhouse and their effect on vegetable growth and development. Soiless culture of vegetable crops. Greenhouse production of: cucumber, tomato, pepper, eggplant, melon, watermelon, lettuce, bean.
