Learning Outcomes
Upon the successful completion of the course, students will be able to comprehend and compose texts with the special characteristics of academic speech and to conduct research to compose annotated bibliography; to identify the structural patterns of a research article, of a paper and of an abstract; to comprehend multimodal texts and to prepare and defend oppositions.

Course Content (Syllabus)
In the course “Greek Language for foreign students, 5th Semester” (level C2.1), students will be introduced to academic publications and more specifically to abstracts, published articles and conference proceedings.
Upon the successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
• conduct research to compose an annotated bibliography
• express opinions with clarity and logical arguments
• prepare and defend oppositions
• comprehend multimodal texts with statistics, diagrams etc.
• recognize and use elements of morphology and syntax found in academic language (e.g. literary use of genitive case, simple past of passive voice coming from Ancient Greek and simple past passive participles)

Description
Four language skills' evaluation (listening, reading, speaking, writing) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment 2001. Council of Europe, Cambridge University Press, http://www.coe.int/t/dg4/education/elp/elp-reg/Source/Key_reference/CEFR_EN.pdf. Due to the interactive character of teaching there is the possibility to evaluate students during class.
