Prerequisites
General Prerequisites
- Level of performance of classical guitar up to the prerequisites of concert solo and chamber music repertory - level of performance of musical instruments aside guitar (preferably violin or flute) in order to form chamber ensembles with guitar for concert performance
Learning Outcomes
Students are expected after the completion of the course: - To have developed collaboration in the formation and artistic activities of chamber music ensembles - To have evolved and experiment with solo and chamber musical performance - To have worked and understand aesthetic, stylistic and analytical issues of musical performance as important as the technical ones - To have participated in a public concert.

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course aims at the cultivation of the classical guitar repertory, mainly within chamber ensembles (but without excluding solo performance), from the 17th to the 21st centuries, and its public performance after through stylistic, analytical and aesthetic approach (besides technique). The formation of small ensembles based on the guitar is put to the centre with the intention of including other instruments as well (violin, flute). The selected repertory will consist of composers and works from the late Baroque period, Classicism and Romanticism, the 20th century (with its polystylistic angles and features), very recent works, and also Greek composers. Issues to be discussed upon and examined, are: - the historical approach in performance - technique as a tool of approaching style, aesthetics and structure of a musical work - guitar and other instruments - guitar works by famous composers, non-guitarists - Greek repertory - transcriptions, and their importance in creating a chamber music guitar repertory - the creation of a guitar ensemble: cooperation, studying, performance approach.

Description
The evaluation of the students derives from their consistence presence and artistic progress of the selected repertory: i) during the semester (up tp 40%) ii) at the final concert performance (up to 60%) The ranking is "pass / fail".
