Learning Outcomes
Before the completion of this course each student should be able to: 1) understand and display advanced knowledge on MIDI & digital audio 2) Apply knowledge about these concepts and techniques into processes of music production 3) Develop practical skills in composing music for synchronizing it with video with the use of sequencing software.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Rapid technological development in the field of music technology with the use of electronic musical instruments and computer based technology in multi-channel recording has entirely changed the music production process. This semester course covers a wide spectrum of recent technologies and techniques used in the music production process, along with music sequencing for video.
Topical outline of the course:
Architecture of and system connections in MIDI & digital audio. Software and techniques for multi-channel recording. Digital sound processing. Mixing & mastering techniques. Music sequencing for video, video graphics, and animation.
