Learning Outcomes
The aim of the course is to teach the clinical applications of pharmacology. Among others, the student is taught about indications and contraindications, routes of drug administration, proper drug combinations and the risk/benefit of pharmacotherapy for different groups of patients. This knowledge combined with the experience that the student gains during the clinical practice will give him the opportunity to choose the appropriate drugs, formulations, routes of administration and dosage for each patient.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Pharmacological treatment of hypertension, heart stroke, gynecological disorders, diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma and infections. Drugs in pain and anesthesia. Pharmacological treatment for special patient populations. Drug interactions. Strategic planning of drug treatment. Treatment of poisoning.
