Learning Outcomes
Aims The use of technology and informatics are crucial skills in medical education, health care and research. This lesson aims to familiarise the students with the potential of using Computing, Telecommunications and Internet for the extraction of knowledge and information. Students will acquire a basic knowledge on the information systems in current practice for the management and diffusion of medical information/knowledge, electronic health record, and the medical decision support. The lectures and lab training will offer students the opportunity to : Understand the basic concepts regarding the function and use of computer, as well as understand terminology and its meaning regarding information and communication technologies. Use algorithms and logical steps to describe medical procedures and problems. Seek and Access valid medical information via certified internet sources and knowledge bases. Understand the importance of electronic health record and its use. Understand the role and importance of medical information management and sharing in the healthcare systems as well as the support of public health. Use technology in their educational procedure. Understand the role and important of biomedical data and their analysis
