Museum Education Students have to design and implement a short educational program on a different subject every year (for example: Ancient Greek pottery”, ‘Representation of children’s toys in contemporary paintings, etc.) so as to introduce preschool children to cultural heritage. Intercultural Education During the Practicum on Intercultural Education students approach the characteristics of Kindergarten classes and implement activities aimed to promote sensitivity of children to the presence of cultural diversity, problem solving, recognition of their identity and the process of beginning to reduce stereotypes and prejudices. The basic aim of this attempt is to provide foreign and minority children with a better education as well as their co-education with children of the majority. Educational arrangement of school settings (This section of the program is implemented in combination with the equivalent part of Museum Education) The arrangement and use of school settings are considered integral parts of the educational process. In this framework, students intervene in the actual classroom space, where museum education simultaneously takes place, in two levels: a) In a material aspect, modifying arrangement and aesthetics in collaboration with children b) Considering that children actually use space, students plan the development of activities with cooperative characteristics regarding applications In this way, students adapt classroom settings to the demands of the teaching application that is implemented in the frame of Museum education. Moreover, students gain experience regarding alternative modes of correlating the pedagogical features of space with the demands of the teaching process and, generally, the learning process.
