In this way, students of the Department will gain a comprehensive knowledge of gear cutting processes, their mathematical description and corresponding of the procedures to solve complex problems that arise in practice.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Gear cutting processes and their mathematical description. Determination of the tool penetrations into the workpiece, of the effective cutting geometry and of the tool wear. Gear hobbing, gear shaping and gear skiving. Gear finishing by shaving, form grinding, generating grinding. Gear case hardening and its modeling. Technology of case hardened surfaces. Gear inspection, involute profile measurement, helix, division, etc.
