Acquisition of knowledge of students on key issues relating to sampling, sample pretreatment techniques, traditional methods of qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis, and processing of results.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Chemical solutions and solubility, chemical equilibrium, acid-base equilibrium, hydrolysis, buffer solutions; heterogeneous equilibrium, , solubility product
Classification of methods of chemical analysis. Bibliography of Analytical Chemistry. Concentration units and ways of expressing concentration of solutions. Basic statistical parameters describing the results. Errors. Estimation of statistical results. Reagents and materials used in chemical analysis. Sampling. Physical and chemical processes for measuring of volume and mass. Wet digestion and dry ashing. Principles of titrimetric analysis. Titration of acids and bases. Various applications of the acid-base titrations in pharmaceutical analysis. Precipitation and complexometric titration and applications. Applications and redox potentiometric titration. Laboratory exercises.
