Course Content (Syllabus)
Soil acidification, soil salinization and sodification. Physical and chemical properties of acidic, saline and sodic soils. Soil remediation of acidic, saline and sodic soils. Classical and modern methods of sodic soil remediation. Causes of soil salinization by irrigation and counter measures. Soils with high concentration of calcium carbonates - properties, behavior. Soils with unfavorable physical properties. Behavior and tolerance of crops in degraded soils. Problems from high boron concentration in soil and remediation.
