Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course students will have:
1. Understand the basic theories of research in journalism
2. Acquire the basic skills of using information search tools on the Internet
3. Acquire the basic skills of using content verification tools
Course Content (Syllabus)
The amount of information the journalist receives requires the development of new tools and approaches to respond to the new environment that has been specifically shaped by the explosion of information and communication technologies. The course addresses the issue of researching and verifying journalistic material online. Initially, a theoretical introduction to journalistic material, genres and contemporary developments in journalism is made, and in particular how it is affected and changed with the advent of the Internet. The course includes hands-on application of advanced research skills, effective use of databases, news sources and other complex information. An important part of the course includes techniques for verifying the content of the news and is one of the main topics today.

Description
Use of powerpoint when teaching the lesson. Providing additional material through the elearning.auth.gr platform (moodle). Contact students via email as well as the communication tools provided by the elearning.auth.gr platform. Evaluation through multiple choice questions on the elearning.auth.gr platform
