Learning Outcomes
Upon completing the course, students will be able to: - know and apply new teaching methods through ICT - embed ICT applications in the curriculum - design teaching scenarios which exploit ICT - evaluate ICT applications for special education - contribute to the improvement of the learning experience of students through suitable technological solutions - design lessons which exploit educational software - use modern online education technologies and platforms

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course aims to educate students in the modern ICT applications for special education, and focuses on three main areas: - Educational software - digital learning material and activities - Synchronous tele-education - learning management - Accessibility - people with disabilities and/or special educational needs After completing the course, students will know and be able to design, implement, evaluate and exploit ICT applications and services in various settings of special education. To this end, course lectures include theoretical and laboratory work. In particular, for each of the above areas, the course involves: - Theory - Laboratory - demonstration of tools - Projects presentations and discussions The content of each area is summarised as follows: - Educational software - definition, evolution, categories, pedagogical basis, design, implementation, evaluation, exploitation - Synchronous e-learning - webinar, project presentation and discussion - Accessibility - assistive technology, special education software, accessibility of electronic documents and web content
