Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course students should be able to understand and describe the moral consideration on Bioethics, particularly from the point of view of Orthodox Ethics. Moreover, they should be able to describe and compare the basic approaches on fundamental bioethical issues, such as abortion, assisted reproductive technology and cloning.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1. The interdisciplinary dialog on bioethics
2. The importance of terminology in bioethics
3. The approach of Orthodox Bioethics
4. Person and dignity
5. Abortion
6. Abortion: hard cases (after rape, diagnosis of a genetic desease or danger for the health of the pregnant)
7. Prenatal and preimplantation diagnosis
8. Assisted reproductive technology: in-vitro fertilization
9. Assisted reproductive technology: surrogate motherhood
10. Reproductive cloning
11. Therapeutic cloning
12. AIDS
13. Bury or Burn the Dead?
