Learning Outcomes
The course aims to analyse the phenomenon of Islam in the Balkans. Next, we will focus on Islam in Bosnia, which, due to local peculiarities, presents phenomena of religiosity that students will get to know and to examine closely in terms of history and theology. The uniqueness of Bosnia as a Muslim enclave in the Balkans renders it a very special case from a scientific point of view, which students will have ample opportunity to compare with other distinctive ethno-religious phenomena of the broader geographical region. Among the anticipated outcomes of learning during the course is the expansion of the historical and epistemic theological horizon of the students, in order for them to become able to comprehend in depth the intellectual and religious conditions under which the religious phenomenon developed throughout the Balkans.
