Learning Outcomes
The course aims to provide students with a better understanding of selected basic topics of Geostatistics, as well as examples of their application and exploitation. In particular, emphasis is given on the combined use of statistical methods and computing to solve simple geological problems.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1) Data collection-Types of geological data 2) Statistics with one variable: Graphical and numerical description using SPSS software 3) Frequency curves-Normal distribution 4) Factor analysis 5) Cluster analysis 6) Time series 7) Bi-variate analysis using least squares methods (linear correlation, error analysis, etc.) 8) Stability analysis using resampling techniques (bootstrap, jackknife, etc.) 9) Introduction to the MATLAB programming language 10) Solving selected geological problems of bi-variate analysis using MATLAB codes
