Students are expected to:
1. Familiarize themselves with the general concept of Engineering and its specialties
2. They will understand the profession of Surveyor Engineer as it was formed in the effort of the representation of space from the prehistoric era to the modern technological reality that is in continuous evolution
3. They will come into contact for the first time with the process of bibliographic research and its modern rules, principles and digital tools for writing scientific work through seminars at the University Library
Course Content (Syllabus)
General concept of engineering and its fields. Historical origins in the forming of surveying engineering. The geo-space and its parameters. Description and representation of earth's space. Measurements. the representation of space as a basis for constructions and works. The surveyor's subject theme and its components. The case of the "rural engineer" and its link to the surveyor in Greece. Modern version of the surveyor in Greece and its prospects. International trends.
