Learning Outcomes
Cognitive: To provide the students with a basic background in solid state physics. To study the basic electronic elements from diode to MOSFETS. To introduce the solution of representative exercises and problems and demonstaration of how to use the PSpice computer simulation program. Skills: Identifying fundamental concepts and operation of basic electronic elements, reasoning through scientific questions, solving problems and elementary use of PSpice.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Solid State Physics (Energy band theory, Conductivity, Mobility). Electric properties of semiconductors (electrons, holes, impurities). Principles of electric circuits, basic circuits. Electronics: Diodes, rectifier circuits, special diodes and applications of diodes to optoelectronic devices. Transistors, Field Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) Applications to digital electronic circuits. Demonstartion of virtual bench lab.
