Learning Outcomes
With the successful completion of the lectures the student will be able to: - record briefly the historical development of Catechetical and Religious Education, - make effective use of the particularities of the developmental stages of children and adolescents in managing their behaviors, - express critical positions on the contemporary pedagogical and social problems of the time in terms of Christian - develop lesson plans for catechetical gatherings focusing on experiential activities.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course includes theory and practice. The theoretical part of the course is preceded by the approach and documentation of Christian Pedagogy as a scientific discipline, their relations with similar disciplines, as well as the whole framework of reflections on the subject. Then a historical review of Christian Education is attempted from the biblical space up to their important expressions in Christianity, in the West and East, with particular emphasis on the Greek space. Methodology in research, purpose, content, media, and contemporary science problems - with clear references to its subject, its agencies and its institutions - will complement the clear picture of the subject. Particular emphasis is placed on the particular characteristics of the developmental stages of children and adolescents and how they influence the understanding of the religious phenomenon. Finally, linking Christian education with new realities of social reality, such as the media, with other areas of education, such as intercultural education, special education, aims to compose its full and real dimension, but and the prospects and possibilities of offering to the modern pedagogue. In practice, a theoretical approach to the curriculum design of the catechism assemblies is initially offered, followed by its application to patristic, biblical, liturgical texts of church as well as contemporary theologian texts, emphasizing experiential actions.
