Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to the literary genre of Church History and its sources.The outline of the time in which Christianity appears. Examination of the reasons why Christianity was considered as a religio illicita in the Roman Empire, which was the legal basis for its persecution.Given the historical outline of the persecutions and the problems created in the Church because of them. Ecumenical Councils. Iconoclasm. Schisms. Brief presentation of the Church of Constantinople in the 1st millenium.
