Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students 1)Will be aware of the conceptual, historical, social and ethical framework within which environmental education has been developed and conducted as well as its basic difference from the other courses. 2)Will know appropriate methods, tools and techniques that can be applied in context and will have been exposed into real-life situations for addressing timely issues, focusing on different target audience every time. 3)Will have realized the complexity of environmental problems and the need to take into consideration social, economic and other issues in order to address them effectively 4)Will have realized the importance of education for the development of environmental friendly values and attitudes. 5)Will have been encouraged in criticism, synthetic and creative thinking to address complex issues.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Theory: 1. Historic evolution of Environmental Education (E.E), 2.Principles and Objectives in EE, 3.Different approaches of the concepts “Environment” and “Education”, 4. Knowledge, Values, Views, Attitudes and Behaviour, 5. Design, Application and Assessment of EE programs, 6. Assessment – criteria, 7. Educational Methodology and use of Projects, 8. Special programs towards the public awareness and elements of Social Ecology. Laboratory Exercises: 1.Educational Methods in E.E. and their application. 2.Special plays for the understanding from pupils of environmental concepts 3.Presentation and assessment of existent environmental educational material 4. Design and production of educational material.
