Prerequisites
General Prerequisites
It is highly recommended that students have taken courses in Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics
Learning Outcomes
By accomplishing this course, students will be able to understand the fundamentals of physical and more specifically thermal processes. They will further be in the position to understand the principles of heat exchangers, both simple ones (single phase ones) and special ones like evaporators. They will be able to study the various types of heat exchangers and boilers used in industrial and building applications and they will have learned how to perform a detailed design study of heat exchangers according to ΕΝ standards. Finally, they will be able to perform the analysis of processes in industry and the tertiary sector, by applying the energy audits methods in accordance to international standards and eventually to determin cost-optimal interventions to improve the energy efficiency in those processes.
General Competences
  • Apply knowledge in practice
  • Retrieve, analyse and synthesise data and information, with the use of necessary technologies
  • Make decisions
  • Work autonomously
  • Design and manage projects
  • Respect natural environment
