Learning Outcomes
Learning of: a) The history of air conditioning technology b) The technology of the air conditioning systems c) The psychrometry and heat recovery techniques d) The methodologies of calculating and design of various air-conditioning systems e) The elaboration of design study of heating installation in buildings Upon successful completion of the course the students will be able to calculate and design central air-conditioning installations in buildings for achieving the operation requirements on thermal comfort,air quality and noise control, and the energy conservation

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction. History of air-conditioning systems. All-air, all-water, air-water and VRV systems. Psychrometrics. Air–to-air energy recovery. Space air diffusion. Air duct design. Pipe sizing. Equipment (chillers, boilers, Air Handling Units, cooling and heating coils, humidifiers, cooling towers, filters, diffusers, terminal units, fans, pumps) selection and sizing. Control of Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. Noise control in HVAC systems. Energy conservation in HVAC systems.
