Upon successful completion of the classes the students will have the ability to recognize important biosynthetic pathways for the synthesis of natural products. What is more, they will learn about important enzymes that help in the development of diversity of natural products and also the basic classes of pharmacological properties that they possess.

Biosynthesis of natural products. Basic concepts of biosynthetic mechanisms. Acetic acid biosynthetic pathway. Shikimic acid pathway. Mevalonate pathway. Mixed biosynthetic routes of alkaloids
