Learning Outcomes
Methods of estimation of Kidney function and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) staging Pathophysiological mechanisms of CKD development and management of patients with classic (traditional) and novel risk factors for development of END-Stage CKD. Signs and syptoms of CKD, preventive measures aiming to inhibit or slow the progression of CKD and management of CKD complications. Basic principles of drug prescription in CKD patients. Indications of Renal Replacement Therapy and comparative advantages and disadvantages of different Renal Replacement Therapy modalities (Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, Renal Transplantation). Prerequisites of Renal Transplantation and evaluation of candidate donor and recipient of a kidney graft. Pathological and surgical complications of Renal Transplantation.
