General Prerequisites
This course is intended to provide students the basic knowledge and skills needed in order to understand the application of the principles of mechanics in human movement and sports performance. Students are also introduced to the basic laboratory methods, tools and techniques used in biomechanics for recording, analysing and assessing human movement.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to movement analysis. Mechanical principles of human motion. Muscle mechanics. Methods, tools and techniques of analysing human motion. Experimental design. Projects presentation. Static and dynamic balance. Rhythmical tasks. Electromyography. Kinematic analysis of motion. Analysis in the frequency domain for assessing rhythmical motor tasks (laboratory) Vertical jump performance analysis (laboratory) Eye tracking and analysis techniques (laboratory) Muscle and tendon vibration reflexes (laboratory) Gait analysis Analysis of complex, multi-articular movements. Sport skill analysis Strength evaluation - Isometric, isokinetic (laboratory)
