Learning Outcomes
Τhe course extends and applies the general knowledge acquired in the motor learning course in individuals with developmental coordination disorder/motor difficulties, related to issues of identification/motor assessment and implementation of intervention programs giving the chance to our Department’s graduates to enforce their scientific and professional profile. With the successful completion of the course the student will be able to: - describe, formulate and interpret the basic issues related to motor coordination disorder (terms/terminology, occurrence/epidemiology, comorbidity with other developmental disorders, individual’s motor, psychological and social characteristics), extending and applying motor learning general knowledge - to discriminate and differentiate knowledge in procedures, methods and instruments for identification and assessment of this developmental disorder, which are scientifically sound and include the most modern research studies in motor development - to detect and distinguish the secondary consequences of the disorder in a case study and to evaluate and solve a problem using the basic principles of motor learning in the development of skillful movement -make good use and exploitation of certain methodologies and procedures choosing the most appropriate for effective teaching and the development of motor skills, in individuals with motor difficulties, showing a professionalism in finding solutions in this field. - analyse, assess and organize the basic variables of the above methodologies for motor skill learning in developmental coordination disorder - organize information and interpret motor learning features of the motor developmental adaptation in developmental coordination disorder and make judges on a scientific issue (e.g. choice of the intervention procedure- task-or/and prosess oriented?) - cooperate with classmates, in preparing, describing, designing and presenting a physical education or organized physical activity intervention program, working autonomously, or in a multidisciplinary environment, defining in this way the role of the physical educator in copying with this disorder - to explain, analyze and present information, ideas, problems and solutions in a specific and non specific audience (oral presentation) - Discover the knowledge skills for continuing studies in a postgraduate level, autonomously
