Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be familiar with both the theory and the technical details of applying atmospheric circulation models. They will be able to process the results of the models and come to conclusions regarding the state of the atmosphere.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction in numerical modeling. Computational requirements. Basic set of equations. Averaging the relations. Parametrizations. Coordinate transformations. Numerical methods of solution. Boundary and initial conditions. Model evaluation. Examples of atmospheric transport modeling.
