Learning Outcomes
-To familiarize themselves with the basic theoretical models and the background for the teacher-child relationship in early childhood education. -To link the role of the teacher and the teacher's practices with the impact it has on the child's behavior and adaptation. -To solve case studies about conflictual teacher-child relationships -To know how to develop a positive classroom climate -To be informed about the current, researched based, evidence and framework about classroom management. -To be informed about the findings of the international literature concerning the influence of a positive teacher-child relationship to the child's development.

Syllabus: -Pedagogic interaction - Teacher-child relationship: Current theories and models -Review of the literature -Role of the educator in the 21st century - Interpersonal expectations of the teacher: self-fulfilling prophecies -Non verba l and verbal communication -Peer group relationships -Peer group structure: formal and informal -Peer group structure: teacher role -Sociometric method in early childhood education -Design intervention programs (presentation of an Erasmus+KA3 project)

Student Assessment
Description
Students’ evaluation will be formative (formative assessment). Students are informed in details in the first lecture about their assignments and the way they will be graded. Overall, they have to submit 3 essays and answer 4 quizzes from different lectures. The essays vary regarding their content (e.g. case studies, problem solving, critical thinking about a research topic).
