Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected to: -understand the correlations and interactions between economic growth and transport systems; -be informed about the formulation and implementation of transport policy in Greece and the European Union; -comprehend the fundamentals of economic analysis in the transport sector; -acquire applied knowledge regarding the methods of socio-economic evaluation of transport projects; -learn to prepare a working paper based on bibliographic review.

Course Content (Syllabus)
In particular, the lectures negotiate the following topics: national and European policy and institutional framework for transport, transport and economic development, evolution and characteristics of road, sea, rail and air transport in global and national environment, the market for transport, supply and demand factors in transport, cost and transport pricing, external costs and social benefits in transport, forms of financing in the transport sector, evaluation methods of investment projects in transport.

Description
Students are expected to attend all classes and meaningfully contribute to group discussions. The grade will be based upon a project report and a class presentation. The various components are weighted as follows: Examination 60% and Project 40%.
