Learning Outcomes
After a successful graduation, the student will be able to: • describe the basics of the pathophysiology of the most common neuromuscular diseases • organize and apply exercise programs, adapted to populations with neuromuscular diseases • recognize the conditions during which a training program for a specific population is appropriate • analyze the requirements of each individual and create the appropriate exercise programs • discover the benefits of exercise on specific populations, which the they do not belong to the first line of clients for a graduate in physical education and sport science. • create the fundamental requirements to cooperate with other disciplines (medical doctors, physical therapists, nurses etc.) in a creative way, with ultimate goal to facilitate the health of the patient.

1. Introduction on the function of the neuromuscular system 2. Examples of deviations in neuromuscular functions 3. General principles of exercise for neuromuscular diseases 4. Motor cortex dysfunctions (stroke, brain injuries, cerebral palsy) 5. Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease 6. Multiple sclerosis 7. Mental training 8. Functional electrical stimulation 9.
