Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: -report the history of space exploration and manned space projects -describe the biological, morphological and functional changes, acute responses and chronic adaptations observed in the human body under microgravity conditions, such as during space flight and living in space or in simulated microgravity conditions on earth (eg bed rest, aging) -recognize the structure and understand the underlying mechanisms of the various organs and systems of the human body in microgravity conditions in space -evaluate the beneficial role of exercise and nutrition as countermeasures in counteracting the adverse effects of microgravity and space flight on the human body
General Competences
  • Retrieve, analyse and synthesise data and information, with the use of necessary technologies
  • Adapt to new situations
  • Make decisions
  • Work in an international context
  • Work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Generate new research ideas
  • Appreciate diversity and multiculturality
  • Advance free, creative and causative thinking
