Learning Outcomes
The aim of this course is to give to the students the opportunity to learn basic concepts of dancetherapy through both applied and theoretical processing. In addition it aims to deem the students able to understand themselves better and gain greater ability to interpret not only their own behavior but their social enviroment as well.
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Know the basic theoretical foundations of dancetherapy and its practice
- Be able to focus and understand his/her emotions better.
- Be able to observe with greater attention and better understand the behaviours of his/her social environment.
Course Content (Syllabus)
- Formulation of objectives, techniques and teaching procedures of the course / first acquaintance of the "group" through a practice of recognizing emotions
- Basic concepts and principles of dance therapy.
- The theoretical background and practice of Trudi Schoop (one of the first dance therapists)
- Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Schoop (1st lesson)
- Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Schoop (2nd lesson)
- The theoretical background and practice of Liljan Espenak (one of the first dance therapists)
- Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Espenak (1st lesson)
- Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Espenak (2nd lesson)
- System analysis and movement interpretation by Rudolf von Laban
- Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Laban (1st lesson)
- Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Laban (2nd lesson)
- Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Laban (3rd lesson)
- Improvisation and its role in the practice of dance therapy
