Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this courses, studenst will have: - understood the importance and role of population in spatial development - got familiar with key concepts, theories, methods and applications of Population Geography - acquired skills related to the cumptuting and interpreting of masic measures of population composition, change and distribution - delved into specific issues through theoretical, empirical and methodological grounding.

Population Geography and the Social Sciences Data sources, measurement and estimation Demographic characteristics and population composition Demographic phenomena: fertility and mortality Population change Geographic distribution Internal migration and urbanisation. Theories of international migration. Population theories and models. Global population: trends and prospects. Case studies from the Greek and international experience.
