The students are expected that at the end of the course they will
• learn the critiques of conventional approaches to development and in particular spatial development
• understand the different alternative approaches to development and in particular spatial development
• learn about the approach to community economies
• become familiar with the use of tools for planning community economies
• learn methods of networking of alternative economic ventures and how this networking could improve local wellbeing
• learn to develop alternative plans to improve local wellbeing

Course Content (Syllabus)
The purpose of the course is to explore alternative approaches and politics of spatial development. Upon completion of the course, students will have the ability to use “tools” to plan and evaluate policies for implementing alternative visions / approaches to spatial development
