Learning Outcomes
at the end of semester students: are familiarized with terminology and general principles of Oral & Maxilofacial Surgery and General Surgery develop their diagnostic ability on Oral & Maxillofacial surgical diseases excersise their skills and dexterities on basic surgical techniques as placing sutures etc.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1.Wounds and injures of the maxillofacial area-management of the trauma patient 2. Principles of management of oral and maxillofacial infections 3. Surgical aspects of the oral tumors 4. Developmental deformities 5. Principles of surgery-Basic principles of oral and surgery-flaps-sutures-wound closure 6. Operating room protocols. Intensive care unit protocols 7. Bleeding disorder normal coagulation and surgical hemostatis 8. Schock-fluids and electrolytes management-Acid base balance 9. Preoperative health status evaluation and management 10. General aneasthesia and preoperative care of the hospitalized patient 11. General principles of the oral and maxillofacial hard and soft tissues reconstruction 12. Common practical surgical procedures (venipuncture, intravenous infusion, intramuscular and subcutaneous infections, nasogastric intubation, PEG, tracheostomy, total, parenteral feeding, management of facial and mucosal lacerations) 13.New technologies in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
