Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course the students will be able to: 1. Know the biology and influence of the environmental factors in the reproduction of farm animals. 2. Understand the control of reproduction in the different systems of production. 3. Understand the different phases of oestrus cycle. 4. Apply the control of fertility and diagnosis of parturition in farm animals.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction. Livestock in Greece and in the European Union. Enviromental factors involved in the control of Reproduction. Biological Cycle in mammals. Reproduction in sheep, goats, cattle, pigs, horses and poultry. Control and management of oestrus and ovulation. Diagnosis of pregnancy. Control of Reproduction in breeding and out of breeding season. Reproduction free of hormone.
