Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course:
1. Students will be able to approach the ecclesiastical and general history of Asia Minor and Pontic Hellenism, gaining knowledge about the rich ecclesiastical, cultural and social legacy of the Greek Asia Minor and Pontians.
2. In addition, students will understand the inextricable connection between the history of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and that of Asia Minor and Pontic Hellenism.
3. Finally, students will get to know important historical figures of Asia Minor and Pontic Hellenism.

Course Content (Syllabus)
In this lesson we will mainly approach the church history of Asia Minor and Pontic Hellenism which is interrelated with the history of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. We will examine the age of empires, the transition to our nation-state and our national integration, after the Asia Minor Disaster (1922) and the exchange of populations (1923).
