Upon successful completion of the course, students will: -lay the foundations for the initial preparation of their dissertation based on theoretical research and artistic practice in the field of contemporary sculpture. -have defined the subject of their final sculptural proposal. -have defined the concept, the mediums, the spatial adaptation, and the methodology of their thesis. -address, through critical discourse, issues that define the form and the content of their research within the spectrum of both contemporary sculpture and contemporary art research.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Preliminary preparation for the dissertation (Degree show) at the end of the 10th semester, based on the artistic research on the theoretical and practical level in the field of contemporary sculpture. It is the production of an original body of work as a solo exhibition that will be publicly presented at the University premises. The selected subject, the concept, the mediums, and the spatial adaptation of students’ sculptural proposals are discussed thoroughly to define their objectives and the methodology of their thesis. The specific proposal is approached within the frame of critical visual discourse concerning issues that address the spectrum of contemporary sculpture and contemporary art research. The students actively participate in all the organized seminars both theoretical and practical.

Description
Continuous assessment (daily, mid-term) Homework Oral presentations. Studio and practical exercises. Final examination and exhibition of the students' artistic work at the end of the semester.
