Learning Outcomes
The successful completion of the course should allow the students:
1. To know the structural and organizational characteristics, as well as the requirements for the operation of a construction site.
2. To know the issues and the parameters related to the operation of a construction site and be able to apply their knowledge to the design and build of a construction site's facilities and infrastructure.
3. To know and be able to manage, at a basic level, issues concerning safety and health, supply chain management, economics and environmental management of construction sites.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Types of construction sites. Construction site layout and control (design, methodology and planning). Construction site infrastructure (temporary facilities, buildings, material storage areas, workshops). Construction site units (machinery, raw material treatment). Construction site management (human resources, organization, processes). Health and safety issues in construction projects. Construction projects supply chain management. Environmental management of site wastes and byproducts. Monitoring sites with Information Technology applications.
