Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1.know about the different components of soil and their functions
2. estimate the effect of pore size on water retention
3. estimate the effect of soil texture and structure on water retention
4. mesure plant available water
5. understand the soil-water system that is needed for plant growth
6. measure soil infiltration and calculate the parameters of the approximate infiltration equations
7. estimate irrigation moisture variables by using pedotransfer functions
8. estimate crop evapotranspiration
9. estimate crop water requirements for full and deficit irrigation
10. calculate the irrigation parameters and plan the irrigation scheduling with the help of soil water balance
